Discover all of ancient Egypt in one day. Enjoy the Giza pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, Menkaure, and the Great Sphinx before visiting the Egyptian Museum, which houses the world’s most extensive collection of Egyptian antiquities. After that, you will visit Islamic Cairo and get to know Egypt differently.
You will be picked up from your accommodation in either Cairo or Giza by your Egyptologist Guide for the Day Tour of Giza Pyramids, Egyptian Museum & Islamic Cairo. You will start the day by visiting the Giza Plateau, only about 30 minutes from Cairo, where your Egyptologist Guide will provide a fascinating introduction to each of the three pyramids: Khufu, Khafre, and Menakaure, as part of the Day Tour of Giza Pyramids, Egyptian Museum & Islamic Cairo.
After visiting the pyramids, your Guide will offer you the opportunity for an unforgettable photo across the plateau to capture the three pyramids rising from the sands, with the Cairo skyline in the background.
A short distance to the city side of the plateau finds you standing at the feet of the Sphinx, thousands of years old, the enigmatic symbol of Egypt.
You will next visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which displays the world’s most significant and precious artifacts of Egyptian items and art. The Museum exhibits a rare collection of over 250,000 genuine artifacts dating back as far as 5000 years.
You will then explore Islamic Cairo, founded by the first Muslim leader Amr ibn al-Aas in 641 AD, and the magnificent Saladin Citadel built during the 12th century, which includes many essential monuments. This includes the Muhammad Ali Mosque, built in the 18th century, the Suleyman Pasha Mosque, Joyce Walls, and the Muhammad Ali Pasha Palace.
To complete your day, you can stroll through the bustling streets of Khan Khalili Bazaar, where you can shop for traditional souvenirs, jewelry, perfumes, and handcrafted items, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of Cairo’s historic market.
After your Day Tour of Giza Pyramids, Egyptian Museum & Islamic Cairo, you will be returned to your accommodation.
